Kidstock

August 2014
Welcome to Kidstock

Happy August, everyone!   School has started for some of you, but it's still so HOT!   We have back to school stuff on our racks, but rest assured we will keep putting up shorts and tanks.  Even if you can't wear them to school, we know you need them for weekend fun.  Have a great rest of your summer (if you have some left!) and we look forward to seeing you soon!

What's in Your Bag?

We will start accepting clothing drop offs next month, so here's a few tips on how to get the most bang for your effort.

1.  Clothing that is clean and nicely folded gets way more time and attention than wrinkled items shoved in a torn trash bag.  'Nuf said.

2.  Any item NOT from Crazy 8, Gymboree, Children's Place, Target, and Old Navy gets more time and attention.

3.  Toys that are clean, working, with batteries (if needed) and all pieces will get the most attention of all.

We look forward to seeing what you have been saving up for the last two months.  Please be considerate with your drop offs and don't overstuff bags or bring in items that are not saleable.  We'd also appreciate a maximum of two bags dropped off per customer.

Reminders
We will not be accepting clothing drop-offs during July and August -- hold your stuff till September!  We use this time to update and organize our existing inventory.  Rest assured that we are hanging new (to you!) items every day from our backlog so you will still find fresh items on the racks every day.

* Kidstock will be closed Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day.

*  Patootie Cakes are still available in the store.  Don't forget that you can grab and go with these already wrapped diaper cakes -- perfect for a new baby hospital visit or as a shower gift.  These come from an outside vendor, so store credit may not be used for your purchase.  If you place an order on the Patootie Cakes website, www.patootiecakes.com, you may pick up in the store during the week and save yourself some shipping/handling costs.

*  Battery Bucket -- In the back of our store is our oft-used dead battery bucket.  No time for e-waste disposal?  Don't put your batteries in the trash -- drop them at Kidstock!

Messy Art Project:
Moon Sand
moon sand pic
Items Needed:
4 cups sand (available at craft stores or Lakeshore, or your own sandbox!)
2 cups corn starch
1 cup water

Moon sand is available commercially, but it's expensive.  Try making your own with this recipe.  Experiment with using colored sand for the base.

Store sand uncovered and add water if you need to bring it back to desired consistency after a few days of non-use.
