Greetings!
Happy March, everyone! Spring has sprung . . sort of. We still have long sleeves and jackets available, but we are hanging up spring things in a hopeful sort of way. Whether you are hot or cold, we have something for everyone. There are also some major holidays at the end of the month, so come on by to get your kids' wardrobes ready to entertain.
We look forward to seeing you soon! |
Reminders
* Kidstock's return policy has changed. You may still bring in returns within one week as long as the tags are attached and you have the original receipt. However, we will no longer be giving cash or credit card returns. All returns, no matter how the items were purchased, will be for store credit only.
* We are accepting clothing and toy drop offs. Please remember that we do not accept stained or torn items or incomplete/non-working toys. If you wouldn't buy it in its current condition, we probably won't take it.
* The parking situation behind Kidstock has changed temporarily. If you usually park behind our store and not on the street, please note that there is a giant green storage bin in one of our spaces. You are welcome to park behind it, or in one of the tandem spots directly east of the bin. All the other spaces belong to our neighbors. The spaces are compact, so please be conscious of how you park so as to allow for as many cars as possible to fit in. (The bin is temporary until we finalize our storage situation.)
* Patootie Cakes are still available in the store. You can grab and go with these already wrapped diaper cakes -- perfect for a new baby hospital visit or as a shower gift. These come from an outside vendor, so store credit may not be used for your purchase. To view a picture, go to www.patootiecakes.com. You can specialty order from the site and pick up at Kidstock to avoid shipping and handling charges.
* Don't forget that Kidstock has a battery bucket. Please don't throw your old batteries in the trash. If you don't e-cycle yourself, Kidstock is happy to collect your old batteries for appropriate disposal. |
Doing It In Denim
One of the most versatile fabrics ever invented, denim is a staple of every kid's wardrobe. From the time it was made popular by the working man and Levi Strauss in the 1800's to its use as a fashion statement today, denim is ubiquitous in our lives. It's tough and durable, (except if you are a 5 year old boy!), it keeps you warm without being too heavy, and it can be dressed up or down. Also, most denim is 100% cotton, so if man-made fabrics irritate you, denim is a great choice.
Even more importantly, we are awash with quite a bit of denim at Kidstock! Come in this month for a great coupon deal. We want to move as much denim as we can so we don't have to store it during the hotter summer months. We love denim, but we want you to have it, not us. Come do denim with us in March! |

Messy Art Project:
Kool-Aid Playdough Recipe
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
1 small pkg. unsweetened Kool-Aid
1 ½ tbsp cooking oil
1 c boiling water
Mix flour, salt, oil and Kool-Aid. Add boiling water; stir and knead until cooled and smooth. Store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. This playdough will be the color and scent of the Kool-Aid you used.
Probably best not to eat this, so keep an eye out! Kool-Aid can also stain some items (clothing, furniture -- we shudder to think what it does to your innards!) so keep play area covered or use a baking sheet.
