Happy February, everyone! Kidstock is ready to go with jackets AND shorts, because apparently the weather can't make up its mind. Our shelves are filled and our racks
are full -- come shopping soon! |
The Rack in Back is . . . Back
Our rack is still hanging out, just outside our back door.
We do our best to have a mix of sizes, including women's and maternity, on our "Back Rack." Some items are not perfect (missing a button, dot of paint), some have just been hanging out with us too long (gotta make room for new stuff!), but most have lots of life left and no imperfections. It's great for crafting, disposable clothing (traveling or camp) or for preschool (read: painting all day!) wear. Almost every item is priced at $1, but there will be a few special things that are well priced to leave us quickly.

Reminders
* We are accepting bags with clothing, toys, and small furniture items. Items do not need to be seasonal. You may drop off at any time, although we do ask that you limit yourself to 1-2 (non-ripped, not too heavy) bags at a time. Please remember that we do not accept stained or torn items. Games/puzzles must be complete. **Heads up notice: we will not be accepting drop-offs this year during July and August. Plan ahead!
* We very much appreciate when shopping that you bring your own bag or choose not to use one. We have some available if you need it, of course, but we are very impressed with the nearly three quarters of our clients who choose the "no bag" option for their purchases. Go Earth!

Messy February Project
Scavenger Hunt
As many of you know, we at Kidstock love projects when the
end result is good enough to eat.
Here is our February offering, but this is fun any time of year.
Supplies:
Hershey's Kisses, foil wrapped chocolate hearts, or any largish wrapped candy
-- OR --
large beads or jewels
--OR --
silly love notes on small pieces of folded pretty paper
-- OR --
small stuffed animals
--OR --
a pretty picture or note cut up into chunks of pieces that resemble a puzzle and have to be assembled
Make sure you count your items so you collect what you hide. (Nothing is worse than finding a melted Kiss under the couch cushions in August!) Choose ONE room in your house and hide 10-20 items, some easy and some hard. Let the kid/s loose to find the items. Encourage teamwork. Be prepared for the kid/s to want to then hide the items for you to find. |
