Kidstock

February 2013

Greetings!

Happy February, everyone!  We hope this newsletter finds all of our Kidstock families settled in with work and school.  We are so sorry we missed sending out a newsletter in January.  Between holidays and flu and so many customers in the store -- it just got away from us.
But we are back on track now!  Come shopping soon -- we look forward to seeing you in the store in 2013!
Reminders

As of February 1, Kidstock's return policy is changing.  You may still bring in returns within one week as long as the tags are attached and you have the original receipt.  However, we will no longer be giving cash or credit card returns.  All returns, no matter how the items were purchased, will be for store credit only.

*  We are accepting clothing and toy drop offs.  Please remember that we do not accept stained or torn items or incomplete/non-working toys.  If you wouldn't buy it in its current condition, we probably won't take it.

 *  The parking situation behind Kidstock has changed a bit.  If you usually park behind our store and not on the street, please note that there is a giant green storage bin in one of our spaces.  You are welcome to park behind it, or in one of the tandem spots directly east of the bin.  All the other spaces belong to our neighbors.  The spaces are compact, so please be conscious of how you park so as to allow for as many cars as possible to fit in.   (The bin is temporary until we finalize our storage situation.)

Patootie Cakes are still available in the store.  You can grab and go with these already wrapped diaper cakes -- perfect for a new baby hospital visit or as a shower gift. These come from an outside vendor, so store credit may not be used for your purchase. To view a picture, go to www.patootiecakes.com. You can specialty order from the site and pick up at Kidstock to avoid shipping and handling charges.

* Kidstock will be open regular hours on President's Day, Monday, February 18.
Costumes and Bathing Suits

Otherwise known as "items you wouldn't think you could buy in February"

Well, guess what?  Those items are available ALL the time at Kidstock!   Yep, it may be brisk outside, but we are pretty sure that our SoCal kids swim all year round, that some of our customers are lucky enough to be heading to Cabo or Hawaii, and that Purim is imminent.  At Kidstock we know that just because rules of retail say you can't buy this stuff now, doesn't mean it's so.

And just to make it even more fun, check out this month's coupons for some great deals on items you think you shouldn't be able to get, but so can at Kidstock!

Messy Art Project:

Microwave Puff-Painting

Make paint that "puffs up" when cooked in the microwave!

Materials:

  • 1 tablespoon self-raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • few drops food colouring

Mix the ingredients together using enough water to make a smooth paste. Make 3 to 4 different colours - empty yogurt containers are handy for this.

Paint on to thick paper or cardboard, then microwave on high for about 10 seconds or until the paint is dry.
