Greetings!
Happy February! We are sending you lots of love and coupons during this hearts and flowers month. Happy Valentine's Day!
We are also celebrating President's Day mid-month. As a special discount for our email readers, on Monday, February 21 come "buy" any time during the day and tell us the answer to our trivia question. If you get it right, take 10% off your entire purchase! (You can even combine it with the coupons listed below for some super great deals!)
Here's the question: Who was the first president to throw out a pitch at a professional baseball game?
To sweeten our President's Day deal, the first 5 people who have the correct answer to the trivia question on February 21 may choose a pair of cleats from our cleat bucket. We have both soccer and baseball cleats in a variety of sizes. (One correct answer per family, please.)
We hope this email finds you enjoying winter and making time to visit the snow, if possible. Kidstock just visited Mountain High with our kids and on the way back stopped off at Venice Beach, all in one day. Where else but in Southern California can we enjoy the snow and surf in the same day?
So happy "winter," everyone! We hope to see you shopping at Kidstock soon, both for snow jackets and sundresses -- we have both ready to go! |
February Schedule
*Regular store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
*We will be open Monday, February 21, waiting for you to come "buy" with the answer to our trivia question! |
Ladies First in February!
Just to change things up a bit, during the first half of February we will move our dollar rack aside and hang a huge rack of women's clothing and maternity wear. (And there may be a few things for the big boys!) If you have lots of store credit and picky children, come in and choose something for yourself this month -- sort of your Valentine's gift to yourself! Interesting labels, everyday wear, jeans, and some very high end designer maternity wear in all shapes and sizes are all mixed together. If you are expecting or know someone who is, come find some great pieces to fill out your wardrobe. Our dollar rack will return towards the end of the month.
Please note: At this time we are not accepting any women's/maternity clothing for credit, so please do not include those items when bringing in bags.

Reminders!
* As always, we are accepting bags. Please, please, please, please, please do not bring us stained or ripped clothing. Clothing should be laundered and ready to go.
* Many customers ask us to hold items for them until their store credit is available. We are happy to do this, but we ask that you give us a date certain as to when you will return. We usually have a good handle on when your credit will be ready (1-2 days) but again (space issues!) we can't hold items indefinitely.
* Kidstock is very honored to have been asked to support the fundraising efforts at the following schools this month: Fairburn Elementary, Temple Isaiah, and Warner Avenue Elementary. We are thrilled to participate in these community events. Thanks for asking!
* Did you know . . . that all Kidstock hair accessories are brand new? That's right! We just received a large shipment of head bands and very cute handmade hair clips. Come find the perfect accessory for your little princess's (or prince's!) outfit. These are the same accessories you would find at kid's boutiques at great Kidstock pricing. |
Give Me A Book Deal!
Books! We are now accepting books, but here's the deal: we don't really want them. Well, it's not that we don't want them exactly, it's more like we have a huge backlog of them and no real place to store more of them. So please be aware of our policy regarding books BEFORE you haul them in:
1. If you bring in books, they will not be returned to you, even if we can't use them. The ones that we are keeping we will give store credit at 10% of what we price the books at. This is significantly lower than what we give for all other items.
2. What we can't use will be donated to local teachers, classrooms, and even our wonderful neighbor to the east, Children's Book World. (They have a secret Teacher Donation Room!)
Rest assured, your books will not end up in the landfill. The bottom line is that while we are happy to return bags of clothing/toys/furniture to you if you so desire, we just don't have the room to store books also.
So bring on the books! We are ready to take them and move them along for you. |

No longer will we call this the Boredom Busters and Crafters Corner -- we gotta' call it by what it really is:
The Super-Messy-Idea-That-I-Hope-Some-Other-Mom-Let's-My Kid-Try-in-Her-House-Because-I-SO-Don't-Want-To-Clean-It-Up Corner!
Soooooo let's say you have a kid, like, a young kid. And this kid really likes to paint. A lot. And let's say that this kid is so young that when he paints, he is also fascinated with the colors and textures, so he paints AND tries to eat the paint at the same time. Not good. Or particularly healthy.
So try this idea. Instead of using paint, use pudding. Pudding comes in a variety of colors (granted, not as many colors as paint!) and has an even better texture than paint if you are, like, one year old. Let the kids go to town using the pudding as finger paint, or you can supply a brush or even a rubber spatula as a painting implement. And if you can confine this painting frenzy to the high chair tray area, you are golden!
Yes, the mess will be fierce, but anything that goes in the mouth can stay in the mouth! And if you want to express your Tiger Mom tendencies, have your child practice his letters, shapes, and numbers in the pudding. See, totally educational!
This month's idea is courtesy of Parents Magazine. The messy embellishments are purely Kidstock's.
