Happy Halloween!
Greetings!
Of course, October is so much more than just Halloween, so happy whatever-you-are-celebrating this month! At Kidstock we celebrate everything, so we hope you can come in and let us know what you need for your own events.
This month we have lots of winter jackets and snow clothing, as well as pretty winter dresses and outfits. And -- in case our envy has not been clear in previous posts in this space -- we still have a selection of summer clothing for those of you planning south of the Equator getaways in the winter. The "retail police" may say no bathing suits in winter, but if you need them, Kidstock has them!
We have also reorganized our shoe section, essentially quadrupling the space for shoes. We have a large assortment of rain, snow, and winter shoes, along with a more organized arrangement of dance and sports shoes. This month's coupon is for shoes, so please come in and check it out!

Reminders
* Jackets are on the floor! We have snow, ski, rain, and fancy jackets available. We also have several snow pants and complete outfits available on our jacket racks. Right now we have quite a mix of "designer" label jackets available along with the popular Gap/Old Navy outerwear. We've also started to hang sweaters, sweatshirts, and even some Christmas dresses!
* Costumes: We get, sell, and put out more costumes every day. We don't always have in every size, but we always have something. Check back with us often if you are looking for something specific. During the month of October, we have temporarily removed our popular $1 rack and replaced it with a rack of costumes. We promise the $1 rack will be back after Halloween!
* We are continuing to take bags of clothing. Please remember that we don't take stained or ripped clothing. We are accepting small furniture items and toys now as well. All clothing should be recently laundered and free of crud and pet hair. We will not be taking books until January.
* Our previous newsletters are archived. You can access them from our website at www.kidstockla.com. September's newsletter contained very detailed information about how we take clothing. Please see that newsletter for more information about how Kidstock processes your gently used kid items.
* Have you noticed what a kid-friendly place our little block on Pico is turning into? Last month we highlighted the south side of the street, and here are some highlights about our neighbors on the north side -- the drugstore, Food!, Laser Disk, Karate Studio, Buttercream Bakery, Subway, the newstand, Micky D's, and more F&S. There is a lot going on on our small stretch of West Pico!
* Our regular store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Vacation alert: The Kidstock Crew will be on vacation October 15-18. We will be open during our usual hours at that time, thanks to Jenny, but we will not be accepting bag drop-offs during those dates unless prior arrangements have been made.

We are grateful to our customers for your continued support. Please remember that the surest way to help us keep our doors open is to recommend us to your friends and family. As always, we appreciate your Yelp reviews, Peach Head for Moms mentions, and any other social media shout outs you utilize. Thanks again for the amazing support and helpful comments we receive from our customers every day!
Sincerely,
The Kidstock Team -- Melna, Leslie, Tony, and Jenny |

Kidstock Crafters and Boredom Busters Corner
Messy, messy, messy!
(Have you noticed that we seem to only choose the messy ideas?!?)
In honor of Halloween, we present the Eyeball Hunt Game:
Fill a large pot with cooked spaghetti noodles, and then bury ping pong balls (you can use Sharpies to make them look like eyeballs) in the noodles. See who can find the most balls in a set amount of time. For an added twist you can color code the balls and have each color worth a different amount of points. After a set amount of times, count up the points earned by each player. For older kids, you can use marbles or a smaller ball.
Thanks to Elli V. for this submission. Elli gets a $5 Kidstock store credit for her fun idea!
Crafters, Bordom Busters, and Other Fun Ideas. Submit an idea at info@kidstockla.com and, if we use your Crafter or Buster in another newsletter, we'll give you $5 store credit! Your Buster should appeal to both boys and girls and should include an appropriate age range. Use "Crafter or Buster" in your subject line. |
